Aguascalientes

May 3, 2026

Mercado Libre announced the installation of a new service center in Aguascalientes, aimed at strengthening its logistics network in Mexico and improving the efficiency of its e-commerce operations in the region. This move is part of its expansion strategy to consolidate its presence in the country and respond to sustained growth in digital demand.

The new center will be located at Parque Industrial Mezquite, south of the state capital, and will become part of the company’s logistics infrastructure, which currently includes 14 distribution centers, more than 100 operating sites, and presence in 28 cities with same-day deliveries. This network has allowed the company to accelerate delivery times and expand coverage in key markets.

Impact on the supply chain and e-commerce

According to José Ignacio Arias Milla, Senior Director of Transportation at Mercado Libre Mexico, the selection of Aguascalientes responds to its strategic location, which will help optimize routes, reduce transit times, and strengthen logistics connectivity across the country.

“These new facilities reflect Mercado Libre’s commitment to Aguascalientes as a logistics innovation hub,” he said.

The executive emphasized that this infrastructure will also have a direct impact on the local business ecosystem, as it will facilitate access to e-commerce for regional companies by reducing logistics costs and improving product distribution efficiency. This translates into greater opportunities for entrepreneurs and suppliers seeking to integrate into digital platforms.

Logistics expansion and business commitment in Aguascalientes

The installation of the service center reinforces the trend toward regionalized supply chains, where companies prioritize locations that allow them to respond more quickly to market demand. In this context, Aguascalientes is positioning itself as a relevant node within national logistics, supported by its connectivity and operational capabilities.

From a business perspective, Mercado Libre’s investment aligns with the growth of e-commerce in Mexico, which has increased demand for advanced logistics infrastructure, technology, and specialized talent. The company continues to strengthen its operating model based on innovation, automation, and territorial expansion.

The project is also part of a broader company strategy to consolidate its leadership in Latin America, integrating technology, logistics, and local talent to remain competitive against other global players in the sector.

With this new facility, Mercado Libre not only expands its operational capacity, but also supports the evolution of digital commerce in Mexico by strengthening the infrastructure that sustains the growth of the digital economy and the integration of local companies into broader value chains.
