November 5, 2026

Global energy management and automation leader Schneider Electric has officially inaugurated its new Querétaro Campus, backed by an investmentof nearly 3.6 billion MXN ($200+ million USD). The expansive complex is engineered to scale the manufacturing of electrical distribution solutions andcritical power infrastructure equipment, serving industrial clients, data centers, and energy networks across Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

The phased industrial expansion spans an impressive 115,000 square meters of production footprint distributed across three advanced plants, two of which are already fully operational. The strategic deployment reinforces Schneider Electric's manufacturing bandwidth and supply chain resilience throughout North America.

Scaling Critical Power Tech for Industrial and Data Center Demands

The Querétaro campus specializes in manufacturing electrical distribution equipment, critical infrastructure systems, and complex engineer-to-order (ETO) solutions designed to accelerate electrification, industrial automation, and digital transformation.

During the inauguration, Luis D’Acosta, President of Schneider Electric for Mexico and Central America, emphasized that the expansion directly addresses rising technological demands across industrial and digital infrastructure sectors.

"With 12 manufacturing plants in the country, we are fully prepared to drive the expansion of industry, data centers, and the digital economy across North America and Central America," stated D’Acosta.

Echoing this perspective, Kelly Becker, President of North American Operationsfor Schneider Electric, underscored Mexico's critical role in the company's regional growth strategy amid a boom in industrial nearshoring, grid modernization, and data center investments.

"Mexico is fundamental to the way we serve our customers across all of North America," Becker noted, while praising the high technical specialization of the Mexican workforce.

Job Creation: Targeting Over 4,000 Direct Jobs by 2027

Beyond manufacturing output, the Querétaro Campus is projected to generate over 4,000 direct jobs and approximately 8,000 indirect positions by the end of 2027. The ecosystem will heavily engage regional engineers, technicians, and local specialized suppliers.

Schneider Electric selected Querétaro due to its robust industrial infrastructure, established supply chain networks, and deep talent pool. Operating in Mexico since 1945, Schneider Electric now commands 12 manufacturing plants nationwide, solidifying Mexico’s position as an indispensable advanced manufacturing powerhouse for North American energy resilience and digital infrastructure.
