Grupo Industrial Monclova inaugurates Manttra Gimsa plant in Coahuila

With an initial investment of 15 million dollars , the Manttra-GIMSA plant in Frontera, Coahuila was inaugurated ,  which will be dedicated to the formulation, manufacture and sale of specialized granular fertilizers of natural origin.

At its maximum capacity, it will have 200 direct and 800 indirect jobs, with an annual production of 100,000 tons, which will make it possible to nurture 1.7 million hectares of agricultural land for the markets of Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

Since its inception, more than 70 years ago, Grupo Industrial Monclova has distinguished itself by the synergy and diversification of its companies, which has allowed it to enter and serve multiple markets, having a presence in different geographical areas of Mexico, creating jobs and value.

With this vision , Manttra GIMSA was born , the result of the alliance between Grupo Industrial Monclova and Grupo Manttra Américas , a Guatemalan company with a presence in more than 18 countries and leader in the specialized fertilizers market. 

The plant is characterized by being the only one in the state with patented radical technology for the production of specialized granular fertilizers of natural origin, compatible with organic agriculture and adaptable to any nutritional need between soil and crop combinations. 

Gerardo Benavides Pape, president of the Board of Directors of Grupo Industrial Monclova , stated that this joint venture was possible thanks to the advantages that Coahuila offers to invest in the state. And in addition to agriculture, these fertilizers have other applications such as sports fields and golf courses, so their use is diverse.

"Coahuila is the ideal State for the installation of the plant, due to its proximity to the largest market in the world, its skilled workforce, security and rule of law, labor peace, as well as the availability of supplies."
