GE Vernova Opens Energy Technology Engineering Center in Querétaro

GE Vernova inaugurated its new engineering offices in Querétaro, a project that strengthens the company’s technology footprint in Mexico and expands its capacity to develop solutions in power generation, electrification, and renewable energy for international markets. The facility is part of GE Vernova’s strategy to position Querétaro as a center for advanced engineering and specialized talent within its global network.
GE Vernova executives highlight commitment to Mexican talent
During the opening, Eric D. Gray, Executive President of GE Vernova’s Power Segment, marked the company’s 130 years of presence in Mexico and said the new offices strengthen the engineering capabilities developed in Querétaro for energy projects across multiple global regions. He emphasized the role of local talent in driving innovation and technology solutions for the energy sector.
Juan Antonio Asencio Armenta, Technology Director and General Manager of Gas Power Engineering at GE Vernova México, noted that the energy division was the first business within the corporation to establish operations in Querétaro. He explained that the success of that initial presence helped build a broader technology ecosystem that now integrates multiple engineering and development functions within the company.
State authorities point to Querétaro’s technology ecosystem
The inauguration also included participation from Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González, who described the engineering offices as a strategic investment in knowledge, innovation, and technological development within the state. He said the arrival and expansion of global companies is supported by the availability of specialized talent, institutional stability, and strong technical capabilities in the region.
Kuri González added that Querétaro has consolidated a competitive environment for high-tech industry through its universities, research centers, industrial clusters, and energy infrastructure that supports productive growth. In this context, he said projects like GE Vernova’s reinforce the state’s positioning as a platform for global-impact engineering and technology development.
Advanced capabilities in Uptown Juriquilla
Located in Uptown Juriquilla, the new facility integrates capabilities such as digital simulation, software validation, materials analysis, control laboratories, and additive manufacturing. These tools expand GE Vernova’s ability to deliver technical support, maintenance, and equipment adaptation services for customers in different regions worldwide.
With this technology center, GE Vernova increases its role within Querétaro’s industrial ecosystem and strengthens collaboration between industry, academia, and technological development.
