Continental Aguascalientes officially begins its operations

With an investment of 52 million euros , this morning the new Continental plant in Aguascalientes was officially inaugurated , positioning itself as the most modern of the group globally.
In the new facilities located in the Finsa Park , the German company will manufacture electric, autonomous, gasoline and diesel cars for the automotive sector, smart antennas, lighting control and test control units, driver safety products in the cabin , seat brake control modules, screens, displays for the cars of the future, among others.
Jean-Francois Tarabbia, connected car networking business unit, indicated that the group made the decision to introduce to this plant technologies interested in its Connected Car Networking (CCN) business unit , which decisively influence the future of mobility:
- High performance computer: it is one of the most strategic technologies and Continental CCN develops the 'brain' of the new electronic architecture in Aguascalientes
- Passive start-up and entry solutions: a product that started in 1998 and where it is the market leader.
"This investment is not just to build an ordinary plant, but a modern high-tech automobile manufacturing site, the plant has been equipped with key industry 4.0 solutions that enable robust and efficient production processes," he added.
For her part, Ina Seterbakken, director of Continental Aguascalientes, highlighted that “ Team Aguas ” has managed to build Continental's new facilities in the midst of the pandemic and a global component crisis, which is why in the last three months they have installed 197 machines to start production.
"Continental Aguascalientes is a space for innovation, with a motivated team that inspires to become the most agile partner, because we produce technological mobility solutions for the automotive industry, giving priority to the conservation of the environment," he commented.
In 2019, the first stone event was held to begin the construction of Continental Aguascalientes , for which Ina Seterbakken highlighted that the hydrocalido team is committed to collaborating and continuing to contribute with society and contribute to creating leaders who inspire and always be a sustainable company.
For his part, Manuel Alejandro González Martínez said that Germany is the third most important commercial partner for Aguascalientes , and with this opening there will be new jobs with high added value that will add to the development and competitiveness of the entity, opening the door to a new era of Industry 4.0 to the state.
