Alibaba Group Forms Strategic Alliance with Puebla Government

Alibaba Group is looking to solidify investments and establish a strong trade presence in Puebla. This follows the signing of an agreement between Ermilo Barrera, head of the state's Secretariat of Economy, and Stephen Kuo, General Manager of North America for Alibaba.

Through his X account, Barrera welcomed the company and expressed his gratitude to Kuo for his support and commitment in facilitating the agreement.

Alibaba's Arrival in Puebla

In September 2022, Alibaba Group formed a collaboration with the Puebla state government to create business opportunities and initiatives throughout the state via the "Digital Villages" program.

Additionally, in March 2022, the company announced the opening of a new distribution center under its logistics arm, Cainiao Network, in Mexico. This marks the first such facility in the country and in the Americas.

With the inauguration of these logistic complex facilities, the ninth of its kind worldwide, Cainiao aims to deliver goods from China to Mexico within just 12 business days from Alibaba Group’s stores, including Tmall, TaoBao, and AliExpress.
