Yazaki Corporation reaffirmed its commitment to Nuevo León with a new investment that strengthens its presence in the state and its role within the transformation of the automotive industry.
The Japanese company announced a $66 million investment to expand its operations in Nuevo León, as part of its continued growth in the region.
The announcement was made during a working tour in Asia by state authorities, where meetings have been held with companies from the industrial and automotive sectors to promote foreign direct investment.
Yazaki strengthens its position in the global automotive industry
Yazaki is one of the leading global suppliers in the automotive industry and a key player in the production of wiring harnesses—essential components for modern vehicles and critical to the transition toward more electrified platforms.
The company operates in more than 40 countries and maintains a strong presence in Nuevo León, where it has developed capabilities in both manufacturing and engineering.
Santa Catarina drives automotive engineering and technology development
During the meeting, the company presented its progress in the state and its strategic projects, including its engineering center in the municipality of Santa Catarina, which currently employs more than 1,000 people.
This facility has become a key part of Yazaki’s operations, concentrating specialized talent and processes related to technological development.
It also represents a significant step in Yazaki’s transition toward the development of technologies for hybrid and electric vehicles, in line with global automotive industry trends.
During the tour, Governor Samuel García noted that over the past three years, the company has invested approximately $36 million in the state as part of a sustained expansion strategy.
“We are pleased to announce that Yazaki continues to strengthen its presence in Nuevo León. Over the past two to three years, the company has invested $36 million, and today it announces a new investment of $66 million,” he stated.
This new investment adds to a broader trend of growth in Japanese capital in the state, which has been key to consolidating its industrial ecosystem.
With this, Nuevo León reinforces its position as a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and global supply chain integration.
