Unilever’s commitment to Nuevo León goes beyond a new plant: the company is positioning the state as a strategic point for its industrial growth, supported by local talent and advanced production capabilities.
During the Invest Monterrey Assembly, where the company received the Invest Award, César Gómez, Legal Advisor for Operations and Supply Chain at Unilever, said the decision to establish a plant in the state responds to a long-term vision aimed at strengthening its industrial presence.
“For Unilever, investing in Nuevo León is part of a long-term vision that reflects the trust we have in this region,” he said.
Technology and efficiency drive industrial operations in Nuevo León
The project was designed to integrate state-of-the-art technology into its production processes, allowing the company to operate under high quality standards, optimize resources, and respond more efficiently to the needs of different markets. This approach seeks to consolidate modern industrial capabilities aligned with the demands of global value chains.
Local talent and suppliers strengthen Unilever’s investment
One of the key factors behind the investment decision has been the availability of human capital in the state. The project’s development has been made possible through the coordination of local talent and suppliers, reflecting the responsiveness of Nuevo León’s industrial ecosystem.
“Today, thousands of people in Nuevo León, both from Unilever and local suppliers, are making possible something many thought impossible: the simultaneous operation and construction of this plant,” he said.
Projects of this kind drive the momentum of a value chain that involves multiple sectors.
Unilever recognized the support of authorities and organizations such as Invest Monterrey in facilitating the project’s installation. Collaboration is essential for investments of this scale to translate into tangible economic development.
“Projects like this are not built in isolation; they require collaboration, coordination, and a shared vision between government, the private sector, and the community,” he said.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to Mexico and Nuevo León, stating that it will promote initiatives focused on innovation, industrial development, and opportunity creation.
About Unilever’s new plant in Nuevo León
The new plant is being developed in the municipality of Salinas Victoria as part of Unilever’s strategy to strengthen its operations in North America. The complex will focus on producing personal care products from recognized brands such as Dove and Sedal, mainly for the United States and Canada markets.
This project aims to consolidate itself as a driver of innovation and exports by integrating highly efficient production processes and capabilities aligned with global value chains. In its first phase, it includes an investment of more than $800 million to promote industrial development, job creation, and supplier integration in the region.
