TAFE Opens New Tractor Assembly Plant in Aguascalientes

Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited (TAFE), one of the world’s largest tractor manufacturers, has inaugurated its new integrated assembly plant and experience center in Aguascalientes, Mexico. This marks the company’s first operation in the country and is part of a $15 million investment plan to strengthen its presence in the Mexican market.

The India-based company, with more than 65 years in the industry, explained that this facility is designed to adapt products to local needs while providing specialized training through its experience center. The new plant will focus on equipment assembly and contribute to skills development, while generating more than 300 direct and indirect jobs as operations expand.

During the ceremony, TAFE CEO Sandeep Sinha highlighted: “The inauguration of this plant in Aguascalientes is a milestone. Mexico’s growing agricultural sector offers significant opportunities for us to provide products tailored to local customers. With the support of our partners, we aim to empower Mexican farmers with reliable, efficient solutions that drive productivity and sustainable growth.”

The event was attended by Aguascalientes Governor Teresa Jiménez, who reaffirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting projects that stimulate the economy and create jobs. Also present were Pankaj Sharma, India’s Ambassador to Mexico, local authorities, and company representatives.

Pankaj Sharma underlined the importance of this investment in strengthening bilateral trade ties between India and Mexico: “The relationship between India and Mexico is at one of its best moments. With this plant, TAFE reaffirms its commitment to the Mexican market and contributes to the economic development of both nations.”

TAFE’s Impact on Mexico’s Agricultural Sector

With operations in more than 80 countries, TAFE will offer in Mexico a portfolio that includes the Compact Series (20–30 HP), Classic Series (35–100 HP), and Magna Series (45–100 HP). The company emphasized its focus on providing durable, fuel-efficient tractors backed by strong after-sales support, addressing the increasing demand of Mexico’s agricultural sector.

The new facility will serve the Mexican market with products tailored to local needs and technical training services for users and distributors. This will strengthen TAFE’s network and promote the adoption of solutions designed to increase productivity in the field.
