Canadian project to strengthen Guanajuato’s construction industry

Headquartered in Quebec, SOPREMA is recognized for its expertise in waterproofing, insulation, and energy efficiency materials—sectors with strong demand in construction. The choice of Guanajuato is backed by the state’s competitive advantages in infrastructure, connectivity, and specialized talent.

Beyond its economic impact, the company announced a social commitment to San Miguel de Allende through support for sports, particularly archery, reinforcing its corporate responsibility and community engagement strategy.

This investment is expected to generate direct and indirect jobs and integrate local suppliers into the supply chain, boosting competitiveness in the region. SOPREMA’s arrival adds to the wave of international projects positioning Guanajuato as an attractive destination for foreign investment in construction and industry.

The announcement followed a meeting between SOPREMA’s CEO, Richard Voyer, and state economic authorities, who highlighted that the company’s trust in Guanajuato opens new opportunities for development in the region.

The project further strengthens the state’s economic momentum and contributes to diversifying its industrial base, consolidating favorable conditions for future international projects in the sector.
