March 21, 2026
German company Phoenix Contact inaugurated a new plant in the municipality of El Marqués, Querétaro, with an investment of MXN 1.623 billion and the creation of 700 specialized jobs, reinforcing the state’s position as a strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and industrial technology.
Industrial expansion strengthens the technology ecosystem
The new facility, located in Parque Industrial Puerta Querétaro, will focus on the production of connectors, cables, and sensors, key components for sectors such as automation, industrial electronics, and smart manufacturing. The project is part of the company’s global strategy to strengthen its presence in North America.
The complex spans 22,000 square meters and includes capacity for future expansion, opening the door to further technological innovation and long-term growth in the region. The plant will primarily serve the U.S. market, improving response times and logistics efficiency.
Querétaro consolidates its role as an advanced manufacturing hub
Phoenix Contact’s arrival adds to the state’s industrial ecosystem, where sectors such as automotive, aerospace, electronics, and technology converge, strengthening integration into global value chains. Investments of this type contribute to regional competitiveness and help attract additional foreign capital.
Industry data reflects this momentum. The electrical-electronics sector surpassed US$1 billion in exports during the first three quarters of 2025, with growth of more than 5%. This performance positions Querétaro as one of Mexico’s leading states in this segment.
In addition, economic ties with Germany continue to expand, with more than 200 German companies operating in Querétaro and cumulative investment exceeding US$1.7 billion, reinforcing commercial and technological connections between both regions.
The new plant also increases supply chain resilience by bringing production closer to key markets and reducing dependence on other regions, in line with global industrial relocation trends.
The Phoenix Contact project confirms Querétaro’s attractiveness for high-value investment driven by specialized talent, infrastructure, and operational certainty—factors that continue to position the state as one of Mexico’s leading industrial destinations and a benchmark for future innovation.
