Nefab expanded its footprint in Mexico with the افتتاح of an advanced packaging engineering center in Guadalajara, designed to strengthen support for advanced manufacturing and digital infrastructure industries across western Mexico.

The expansion includes a new 3,000-square-meter facility integrating capabilities for design, testing, prototyping, and production of industrial packaging solutions. The new campus is intended to develop and validate protective systems for high-value equipment used in global supply chains.

According to the company, the engineering center will serve customers in Mexico and across the Americas in sectors such as digital infrastructure, electronics, healthcare, semiconductors, and automotive.

“Guadalajara has become one of Mexico’s most important technology and manufacturing hubs. As investments grow in areas like artificial intelligence and data center infrastructure, packaging requirements become increasingly complex. Expanding our local engineering capabilities allows us to support customers with faster development cycles and more specialized packaging solutions,” said Eric Wickman, Nefab’s Regional Director for Latin America.

Testing and prototyping to simulate real transport conditions

Unlike traditional packaging production plants, the new center includes dedicated testing and prototyping laboratories designed to simulate real-world transportation conditions. This allows packaging performance to be evaluated before equipment is shipped to final destinations.

“Advanced testing enables us to recreate the situations products experience throughout global logistics routes. This level of validation is essential to protect complex equipment such as server racks, electronic components, and other high-value technologies,” said Guilherme Ueda, the company’s Engineering and Innovation Manager for Latin America.

Job creation and continued regional expansion

Nefab expects the expansion to generate approximately 60 new jobs during the first year of operations, including engineering, production, and technical roles.

The investment builds on other regional initiatives. In 2025, Nefab launched a thin-gauge thermoformed packaging operation that integrates design, production, and recycling of reusable and recyclable packaging systems.
