He also highlighted that Tesla was sold 600,000 hydraulic steering parts for its plants in the neighboring country, a fact that represents an opportunity for them to be able to work as their supplier when they start operations in Nuevo León .
Ki Bong Kim added that the company's vision is that in a maximum of three or five years all of its production will be solely for electrical units, since this cluster is being developed in Coahuila and they know that Nuevo León is on the same path. .
In that sense, they hope that their local suppliers with whom they currently work can grow along with them.
Regarding General Motors, the manager explained that in other countries they have already been their suppliers of different auto parts and today they are in talks to do so at their Ramos Arizpe plant.
Another of the projects in which they have participated is with Ford, supplying parts for the engine and transmission of the electric Mustang.
Finally, Ki Bong Kim added that its current production is 50% for electric vehicles and the other 50% for traditional ones. Its main requirements are aluminum and machining.
Competitive advantages of Coahuila
Miguel Ángel Riquelme Solís, governor of Coahuila, highlighted the advantages of the state to continue being an investment attraction.
He commented that this investment will produce 300 new jobs and represents for the plaza the second plant of the company and its third expansion project.
He argued that this only reinforces the commercial relationship between Coahuila and Asia, and anticipated that in the coming months there will be more investments of this type.
Riquelme Solís assured the directors of MKDC that they will find the most qualified personnel and one of the most exporting and job-generating entities.
