Chihuahua closed 2025 with a historic milestone in international trade, reaching USD 109.5 billion in cumulative exports for the year and consolidating its position as Mexico’s leading exporting state for the 16th consecutive year.

More than a strong annual result, the figure marks the highest export volume ever recorded in Chihuahua’s history, confirming the scale, sophistication, and resilience of the state’s industrial platform.

A Record-Breaking Year for Chihuahua

The latest results reinforce Chihuahua’s weight within Mexico’s export economy. What had already become evident in the fourth quarter—when the state ranked as the country’s top exporter—now translates into a much larger annual signal: 2025 was not only another year of leadership, but a historic record for the state.

This performance reflects the strength of an industrial ecosystem that has continued evolving toward more advanced, technology-intensive manufacturing, with export growth increasingly tied to sectors that demand precision, engineering depth, and specialized talent.

Sixteen Consecutive Years at the Top

Remaining Mexico’s top exporting state for 16 years in a row is significant in itself. It speaks not only to scale, but to continuity, competitiveness, and the ability to sustain industrial performance across changing market conditions.

In Chihuahua’s case, this leadership has been built on a combination of advanced manufacturing capabilities, cross-border integration, strong supplier networks, and long-standing expertise in global production industries.

That continuity also makes the 2025 milestone more relevant: it is not an isolated spike, but the latest expression of a deeply consolidated export platform.

Exports Rose 45.1% in a Historic Surge

The annual result was also notable for its pace of growth. According to the figures highlighted for 2025, Chihuahua increased its exports by 45.1% compared with the previous year, an expansion that underscores the momentum of the state’s industrial base.

That kind of growth is especially important in a national and global context where export competitiveness increasingly depends on technological content, operational scale, and the ability to respond quickly to changes in demand.

For investors and manufacturers, this sends a strong message: Chihuahua is not only maintaining leadership, it is accelerating it.

Electronics Emerges as a Major Growth Driver

One of the most striking elements behind the 2025 record was the performance of the electronics sector, which posted 93.4% growth versus 2024.

This matters because it highlights Chihuahua’s rising relevance in one of the most strategic segments of advanced manufacturing. Electronics production is increasingly central to North American supply chains, particularly in areas tied to digital infrastructure, computing systems, and next-generation industrial technology.

The sector’s sharp expansion also reinforces the idea that Chihuahua’s export leadership is being driven not only by volume, but by its growing participation in high-value manufacturing.

Ciudad Juárez and the Global Technology Supply Chain

The state’s relevance becomes even more visible when viewed through the lens of global technology production. According to the information shared alongside the 2025 results, 50% of the servers used by major technology companies such as Microsoft, Google, Meta, and Amazon are manufactured in Ciudad Juárez by leading Taiwanese companies.

These servers incorporate advanced technologies including NVIDIA’s GB200 and GB300, placing Chihuahua—and particularly Ciudad Juárez—at the center of one of the most demanding and strategically important segments of global manufacturing.

This is a powerful indicator of how far the state’s industrial ecosystem has advanced. Chihuahua is no longer defined only by export scale, but by its role in the manufacturing of critical technologies for the digital economy.

Advanced Manufacturing Talent Behind the Record

At the core of this historic performance is Chihuahua’s highly skilled workforce. The state’s manufacturing success is closely tied to its ability to support complex industrial operations with technical talent, engineering capability, and production experience.

That talent base has been essential in enabling companies to expand in sectors such as electronics, electrical systems, precision components, and advanced assembly—industries where execution quality and specialized knowledge are fundamental.

A Stronger Case for Chihuahua’s Industrial Future

Chihuahua’s 2025 export record is not only a retrospective indicator of strength. It is also a forward-looking sign of where the state stands in Mexico’s industrial future.

With a record USD 109.5 billion in annual exports, 16 consecutive years as the nation’s top exporter, and rapid growth in electronics and advanced technology manufacturing, Chihuahua continues to reinforce its position as one of the most powerful industrial platforms in North America.
