With a strategic investment that reinforces Nuevo León’s industrial strength, Swiss-American company Steelform has begun construction of its new plant in the municipality of Pesquería. The groundbreaking ceremony, led by Governor Samuel García Sepúlveda, marks a decisive step in consolidating the state as a hub for foreign investment and a leader in economic development.

Automotive investment in Pesquería and competitive advantages

During the ceremony, García highlighted that Nuevo León has reached record levels in foreign direct investment, totaling USD 90 billion over the past four years—ten times more than the previous administration. This achievement positions the state as the national leader in employment, income, education, and quality of life, generating confidence and certainty for global companies.

“Every peso, every dollar, or every euro invested in Nuevo León multiplies; here we provide security, education, healthcare, and the best quality of life so that every company can grow along with our people,” said the governor.

Steelform’s origins and supply chain integration

Steelform, a Swiss-American company, was created through the merger of Steel Warehouse (founded in 1948) and Forming AG (established in 1964), and currently operates in Switzerland and the United States. Its arrival in Mexico responds to the dynamism of the automotive value chain, one of the most strategic and robust industries in the region.

At the symbolic groundbreaking, state and municipal authorities joined company executives in stressing that the expansion will generate well-paid jobs and enhance Pesquería’s competitiveness. The municipality has become an industrial epicenter thanks to key infrastructure such as the new airport, Metro lines, and modern highways.

Through this investment, Steelform reaffirms its confidence in Nuevo León, joining the wave of international companies that have found in the state the ideal conditions to grow and contribute to Mexico’s economic development.
