Mexican company Frialsa Frigoríficos inaugurated the Puerta Querétaro Distribution Center, a specialized complex for integrated cold chain logistics for perishable products that represented an initial investment of more than MXN 400 million and the creation of 450 direct jobs and more than 600 indirect jobs. The company also confirmed a second expansion phase for 2027, with an additional MXN 400 million investment, which will increase the complex’s capacity to nearly 40,000 storage positions.

The new logistics center incorporates technology focused on operational efficiency and sustainability, with automation systems, traceability and precise temperature control for the handling of food and perishable products. The infrastructure also includes solar panels with a capacity of 700 kW and systems to recover more than 250,000 liters of rainwater, elements that are part of the company’s environmental strategy.
During the inauguration, Querétaro Governor Mauricio Kuri González said Frialsa’s expansion reflects business confidence in the state and highlighted the importance of connectivity and logistics infrastructure for industrial growth. The governor emphasized that Querétaro maintains competitive advantages related to security, legal certainty, talent development, and air and road connectivity.
“Thank you for your trust in us, for your commitment to Mexico, for your presence in Mexico and for taking on your responsibilities,” the governor said, recognizing the company’s logistics operations and its commitment to sustainable technologies within its industrial processes.
Querétaro strengthens its role as a strategic hub for logistics and manufacturing
Luis Jorba Servitje, CEO of Frialsa Frigoríficos, said the investment is part of the company’s growth strategy and long-term vision in Mexico. He noted that Querétaro has consolidated itself as one of the country’s most relevant logistics points due to its ability to connect industrial regions, supply chains and consumer markets.
In turn, Luis Jorba Badia, Frialsa’s Director of Operations and Transformation, explained that the new center was designed under operational efficiency criteria from the planning stage. He detailed that the complex incorporates automation and improved controls to optimize inventories, traceability and thermal monitoring within the cold chain.
Frialsa’s expansion also strengthens Querétaro’s position in industrial sectors linked to food, agribusiness, advanced manufacturing and specialized distribution. The state maintains a strategic location within the Bajío region and connectivity with key industrial corridors in the country, factors that continue to drive new investments in logistics and refrigerated storage.
