San Luis Potosí

September 4, 2025

The Japanese company Daikin announced that it will open its third plant in San Luis Potosí in October, with an investment of 7 billion pesos. The facility will generate 3,500 direct jobs in its first stage and is projected to reach up to 6,000 positions within two years, reinforcing the state’s role as a strategic destination for global manufacturing.

Investment Strengthening Local Industry

Daikin’s decision reflects confidence in the economic environment and modern infrastructure offered by San Luis Potosí. The company emphasized that this expansion will consolidate its production capacity in Mexico and meet the growing international demand for climate control equipment.

As part of the announcement, Governor Ricardo Gallardo inaugurated San Luis Potosí’s representation office in Japan, making the state the only one in Mexico with an official presence in that market. The governor highlighted that this step aims to bring local entrepreneurs closer to strategic Asian partners and expand investment opportunities.

Global Projection

San Luis Potosí continues to strengthen its position as an attractive hub for foreign capital, adding a new Japanese investment while opening dialogue channels in Asia. “We continue building alliances that drive development and the future of all people in San Luis Potosí,” said Gallardo.

The combination of modern infrastructure, diversified markets, and high-impact projects such as Daikin’s marks a decisive step in consolidating the state as a top-tier industrial destination.
